ZMMI is a proud partner and sponsor to Kimbia Bila Shaka Zanzi Half Marathon, which supports and help ensure the continuous sustainable impact of both the all-yearlong ‘Kimbia Bila Shaka’© running movement and the non-profit cultural event ZANZI HALF©.

A sustainable development initiative allowing sports and physical activities to be the medium and gives back to the societies of Unguja. Most importantly brings health prevention by regular exercise to combat health conditions and diseases for both genders thereby, reduce inequalities that prevents the important direction of sustainable and healthy villages and towns in Zanzibar. Since 2019, the movement ‘Kimbia Bila Shaka’ © and race ZANZI HALF© have strengthened local communities, fostered equity by continuous exercise events of both genders and additional different engagements, specifically for young girls and women. To motivate and bring support to young girls and women on their own empowerment journey, and their way out in the public; running in the streets and on the beaches and exercising, regardless of social background, age, heritage and religion.

We continue building on the important pillars of sustainable civilization, economic growth and social development spinning around the goals for “a good health”, “well-being” and “education”. We encourage women and young girls to exercise for their own health benefit, building self-confidence for a healthier future.
